Ohh~ Thanksgiving!

The week started with the typical Thanksgiving preparations~~ none of which I participate in. You see Eric is the THE cook in the family. I am very THANKFUL that I don't have to cook!!

Kiara helped Eric prepare a delicious new recipe of gravy! This is them in their cooking apparel.

O.K., I lied, even though I don't cook, I love to host and I enjoy decorating and stealing ideas from magazines... So here is my shot at a Thanksgiving setting.

This year we had the great honor of having our fellow co-laobrs of SIlver City Mosaic and great friends join us for dinner. We decided that both families would cook and then we contacted our local Volunteer Center to find shut-ins that would need a meal delivered. We got a few names and the picture above shows Daniel and Christopher and Josh (who is taking the pic) delivering a meal to a local man... They had some challenges finding his house (can't always count on google maps)... but eventually they got there. I know he was very grateful for the opportunity to have a thanksgiving meal.

This is a pic of Danny and Jessica Osuna. They are an amazing couple who have been willing to partner with us in establishing Silver City Mosaic. They have spent endless hours of meeting, sharing, and working with us to dream the future. We are so very grateful for them. We had a great morning of serving others in our community with a few meals, and then we came together to eat, drink, and share life together...Exactly what Thanksgiving is all about!

A pic of me, Kiara and Jeanie Osuna (passionate jesus follower and lover of His people, who will be graduating this May from NMSU) and Michaela. My dad also hides well from pics, but of course he was with us for dinner and I have to mention how grateful I am for him, as he does soooo much for us every day. He helps with the kids, the cooking, the firewood, the fire making, the broken doors, the replacing of light bulbs, on and on I could go of all he does to help us!!

I hope all of you had a wonderful day of Giving of Thanks!!
Krys

I enjoy it! This is going to sound sexist... but all the great chef's are men.

What a great thanksgiving! i love the idea of sharing your meal with shut-ins. Wish we'd have done that. What you are teaching those kids is priceless!

(Oops! My name is Debbie Arnn...not sure if I've commented on your blog before...been lurking for a few months.)

Lori~ Yes a cooking husband and even more... he cleans, and fathers and he is just wonderful!
There are a few out there!

Debbie~ I do remember you, you had the great ideas for a kids barbarian way curriculum!

Cliff~ There is a Mosaic in New Mexico... The whole 10 of us???!!! It's a new church plant with lots of room for improving momentum!

Niza~ Thanks you for the compliment...Wow, you actually file the pages!? I'm impressed! Looking forward to Origins but more importantly I can't wait to meet many of the bloggosphere world, where I feel so connected! You are definitely on top of the list for ~ autograph, and telling everyone " I got to meet Niza!" you know, all the celebrity stuff:~)

If I was responsible for cooking in our house, I suspect we would starve...or live off that great English favourite: fish and chips.

Great pics by the way. Like Debbie, I've lurked (isn't there a better word?!) a few times but not commented before.

Me and Rachel are coming over for Origins in May too...maybe catch you and Eric then.

What a beautiful table setting. I love creating in our home - please post more pictures of your creativity!! We don't normally celebrate thanksgiving but did for the first time this year with some American friends who have planted a church in Sheffield. I'd like to adopt it - it's nice to be thankful! Would be great to see you in May.
